HOUSTON/GALVESTON NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
2017 HURRICANE AND SEVERE WEATHER PREPAREDNESS GUIDES
The National Weather Service Houston/Galveston Office is preparing a Southeast Texas Hurricane and Severe Weather Preparedness Guide for 2017. The guide will include information on how to prepare for hurricanes and how to stay safe when dealing with all types of weather hazards including flooding, tornadoes, and severe thunderstorms. The guide will include a hurricane tracking chart and numerous checklists of things to consider before, during and after a hurricane. Maps of evacuation zones and evacuation routes are also included. The electronic version of this guide will be posted to weather.gov/houston and the workshop website before the hurricane season.
The Greater Houston LEPC is offering an opportunity to purchase printed copies of these hurricane guides. Typically some businesses, emergency managers, community leaders and civic groups choose to purchase these for distribution to their employees or members of their communities. The fee charged covers printing costs and delivery.
Booklets are shipped in units of 125 per box. The cost for orders is $150.00 per box which equates to $1.20 per booklet.
